A packed house in the sema packaging technology hall.

A packed house in sema’s packaging technology hall – made possible entirely by optimized manufacturing with a high degree of standardization. Driven by strong demand for secondary packaging systems, the need arose for a new, practical solution. At first, it seemed challenging to transform diverse custom production into a structure suitable for series manufacturing. Therefore, existing workflows, processes, and overall throughput times were carefully analyzed by an experienced sema team in order to fully leverage the available optimization potential.

sema’s effective assembly concept provides for a consistent production flow across individual stations, ensuring optimal planning of all processes, high output, and very short lead times. For the first time in sema’s history, eight sold tray formers are in final assembly at the same time. Further optimization approaches, as well as continuous improvements toward more sustainable production processes, are already in planning.
